Coversation Heart Box - Lori Whitlock Design

Lori Whitlock is one of my favorite cut file designers on the Silhouette online store. I also used her poinsettia file for the flower.  The clear acetate is recycled from a Cricut cartridge.  I always keep the plastic that it comes in for this very purpose. Now....what should I put in there?

Redneck Wine Glass - Valentines Day Gift

One of my friends asked me to make her a Redneck Wine Glass for a friend. She was so thrilled with how I decorated it.  I always get a kick out of how much my friends love my work. Sometimes what seems so easy to me, really isn't easy after all.  This gift would be perfect for Christmas too!

Elegant Journal

Well...one of my co-workers went ahead and decided to take another job at a different company.  Whaaaaat? Now I have to go make new friends.  Oh well.  I made this for her as a going away present and she was so thrilled. She said she wasn't going to write in it, but I made her promise that she would. The paper is from DCWV and the flower is a Lori Whitlock design that I cut out of my Sihlouette Cameo.  I hope you like it!

Celebrate Life Today Journal

I made this journal as a Christmas present for a friend at work. She's undergone quite a transformation with her weight and she's finally enjoying life. I thought this would be perfect for her!

The paper is from My Minds Eye. The flower is cut with my Silhouette. I believe the file is from Lori Whitlock, since most of the files I buy seem to be from her designs. I used dew dots for the brown flowers and pearl brads and embellishments. The key and lock were sitting in my drawer, and I can't remember who manufactures them. Oh well.

7 Days of Craft Fair - Day 5 - Scrabble Tile Necklace

Scrabble tile necklaces are super cute. They make a great gift too!



Supplies Needed:
1 - Scrabble Tile
1 - Glue on Bail
1 - Ribbon Necklace
Scrapbook paper
Ink pad
Stamps
Dimensional Glossy Accents or Square Epoxy Stickers

Directions:
1. Using a very small stamp, hand stamp an image on the scrapbooking paper. I got this sheet from Hobby lobby. It's hard to find Religious scrapbooking paper.
2. Cut the paper to size.
3. Ink the edges.
4. Adhere the paper to the scrabble tile using glossy accents.
5. Once dry, add a layer of glossy accents to the top. Alternatively you can buy epoxy stickers which may come out nicer than the glossy accents.  I didn't have any on hand but I saw them for sale at Michaels the other day.
6. Glue the bail to the back.

Very easy!

7 Days of Craft Fair - Day 4 - On the Go Kits

I love these cute pillow boxes that I got from Amazon.com last year. They work out to be about .30 each, which is the cheapest I've found if you don't want thousands of these boxes lying around!  This kit on the go includes hand santizer, chapstick, bandaid, floss, travel sized kleenex, Q-tips (not the cheap ones - I hate those), and gum.



Simply place all of the ingredients in the pillow box and add a cute die cut.  I really love the Lettering Delights Zombie die cuts, so I had to include one here!

7 Days of Craft Fair - Day 3 - Custom Magnets

This week I'm featuring items that would make great craft fair ideas! This is the second year I've done this post - so be sure to check out last years posts to for more ideas to inspire you. Check back everyday for neat ideas and inspiration as you prepare for upcoming craft shows, or if you're planning fun gifts for Christmas!
Today we're featuring custom glass magnets.  I made these for my cabin friends out of Paper Loft paper. It's hard to get really cute woodsey paper, so when I find it - I usually snag 3-4 pieces.  Directions are below.

You'll need:

- glass pebbles (I got mine from Michaels, but you can also find these at the Dollar Tree)

- Mod podge or liquid glass

- foam brush

- small magnets

- craft knife

- Patterned paper or photos

Instructions:

1. Brush a thin layer of Mod Podge over the back side of the glass

2. Adhere the paper to the Mod Podge so it shows through the pebble

3. Let dry

4. Cut with craft knife

Easy Peasy!

7 Days of Craft Fair - Day 2 - Prayer Journal

To celebrate day 2 of 7 days of craft fair, I'm showcasing handmade journals. Nothing says unique like a handmade journal.  When I started making this one - I hated it...so I kept adding more and more to it.  Now I LOVE it.  I especially love how the Faith letters came out.



Supplies:

• 12 x 12 paper
• Tissue Paper
• Chip board letters
• Mod Podge
• Glimmer Mist
• Going Places Cricut cartridge for the arrows
• Art Philosophy for the tag
• Tim Holtz stamps and embellishments
• Liquid glass
• Bling
• Dollar Spot alphabet stamps
• Memento brown ink
• Ribbon and lace

Simple Steps

1. Adhere the base card stock using tape
2. Create hand made embellishments (I used rock candy on the tag) and alter the tissue paper
3. Mod Podge embellishments and tissue to the base cardstock
4. Cover entire surface with Mod Podge
5. Let dry and add liquid glass where you want a raised surface
6. Add the rest of the embellishments
7. Add Bling

7 Days of Craft Fair - Day 1 - Hand Sanitizer Holders

Today I'm making Halloween Hand Sanitizer kits.  



You'll need hand sanitizers that you can purchase from Bath and Body works, or pick up a pack of three at your local Dollar Tree.  While Bath and Body works sanitizers are my favorite, the ones at the Dollar tree are so much cheaper at .33 each versus $1.75 or $1.00 (if you can get them on sale).

You also need cardstock, ribbon, score tape, and pop dots.

My background cardstock is from DCWV Midnight spell pack, and the embellishment is cut from the Graphic 45 Happy Haunting paper pack. I love Graphic 45 paper!

Magic of Oz Graphic 45 Journal

I made this journal for my sister. She's always been a fan of The Wizard of Oz. So when I saw this paper online...I knew exactly what I would make with it. She really likes it and said she may even start writing in it. Well...ya...that's why I made it....bwahahaha!

Altered Composition Book - Prayer Journal

This is the first prayer journal that I've made and I'm thrilled with how it turned out.  It took me all day since I was learning the techniques as I went, had to visit Joanns and Hobby Lobby to get supplies, plus I had laundry to do, bathrooms to clean, and kids to feed.  I think I must have watched 2 hours of videos trying to figure out everything I need to know.  But now that I know how....the next one will be a breeze.



Supplies:

• 12 x 12 paper
• Tissue Paper
• Old Dictionary
• Chip board letters
• Mod Podge
• Glimmer Mist
• Going Places Cricut cartridge for the arrows
• Art Philosophy for the tag
• Tim Holtz stamps, Ornate Plate, Foliage, 
• Ranger Rock Candy
• Distressed Stickles
• Dollar Spot alphabet stamps
• Memento brown ink
• Bakers Twine

Simple Steps

1. Adhere the base card stock using tape
2. Create hand made embellishments (I used rock candy on the tag) and alter the tissue paper
3. Mod Podge embellishments and tissue to the base cardstock
4. Cover entire surface with Mod Podge
5. Punch holes for the button
6. Use wire to secure the button and secure the wire on the inside of the notebook
7. Add Distressed Stickles

It's an easy project, but very time consuming.  I think if I made the embellishments in advance - the assembly would have gone faster. 

I love this journal!  I even put my name on it so I won't be tempted to give it away - bwahahahahaha!

All About My Dad - Album

This was a Lettering Delights freebie for Father's day.

I used Sihlouette Design Studio to add photos because I really didn't feel like opening up another software program - like Paint Shop Pro. Then, I printed, cut, and binded the edges with my bind it all. Then I had the boys fill  in the blank pages with special words about their daddy.  The hubs said it was the best Father's day present ever! I guess it beat out that new grill set...awesome.

Homeade Apricot Jam

I love apricots, but they can be really expensive in Arizona. So when I had the chance to buy a case for $19, I jumped at the chance. I didn't really plan to make jam but after a week of apricots here and there, I had to do somehing before they spoiled. So I decided to make some jam. I made 15 jars of both full sugar and reduced sugar. To my surprise, I found out that I liked reduced sugar better.
The jars below have found new homes. They were decorated using the Preserves Cricut cartridge and stampes with a Peachy keen stamp face.

May Birthday Swap

I had the opportunity to participate in a birthday swap. Heres all of the fun goodies my stampn sisters sent me. Soooo awesome!

King Pin - Sweet Tooth Box

I used my gypsy to modify the ice cream box in the Sweet Tooth Cricut Cartridge.  The other shapes are cut from George and Basics shapes. I added stickles to the crown to make it stand out. Inside I stored an ITunes gift card so my dad could buy some more Angry Bird Aps!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I made these Valentine's Day mailboxes for my two boys.  These mailboxes are from the Love Struck 2010 cartridge.  I love it!  Inside they each received 800 Xbox points - Yay!

My hubby bought me these beautiful flowers - oooooo so pretty!  I'm one lucky gal!

Camping Critters Tent Gift Idea

I made this tent for my mom's boyfriend.  When you lift the left side of the tent you get access to the goodies inside!

 Inside the tent are fishing lures! 

December Survival Kits - Winter Frolic Cartridge

I wanted to come up with an inexpensive gift to give the ladies in my bible study for Christmas. So I came up with the December Survival Kit idea. Each includes tissue paper, tea, cough drop, vitamin drop, bath and body works hand sanitizer, and cinnamon candy.

I used premade pillow boxes purchased from Amazon.com. You get about 50 of them for $15 at Amazon. Here's the link if you're interested:

The girl is cut from Winter Frolic cartridge. She's blinged out with different colored stickles.

Stocking Swap - Year 2!

This is the 2nd year I've participated in a stocking swap over at one of may fav message boards. This year I had the fabulous opportunity to meet a gal named Marjorie.  Over the last few months, she and I have become great friends....and that alone is the best gift of all.

 She' sent me this 10 lb box full of goodies that I received today - yay!

Here's the box - what a pretty card!

There were over 30 wrapped gifts!  That's a lot of wrapping! What a pretty fancy stocking!

Here's the handmade item Marjorie made me - oh so fabulous! It will come in very handy

I had the munchies so I guessed which ones had candy in them...and I was right! 

Marjorie is teasing me...she says she bets I can't guess what's in this one.

I'm guessing it's 12x12 paper!

Marjorie also put in 2 presents for the boys - they were thrilled to receive early Christmas presents.

They wanted to make the hot chocolate immediately - but since the package came after 7pm - they'll have to wait until tomorrow.
