In This Home - Vinyl Wall Decor

I'm so excited about how my vinyl wall art turned out. It's so professional - but even better it was about about $5 instead of around $30 online. Plus - mine says we love Jesus - which makes it even more unique and special.
I created this using my Gypsy. entire size is a bit over 24" x 12".
I used my super big Cricut mat to cut the word collage - all in one try.
The scrolls were an after thought, so they were cut separately.
The cartridges I used include:
Home Decor - for the scrolls
Storybook - for Home and Jesus words
Gypsy Font - for all of the "We ..." phrases
A Child's Year - for the other
I just moved the words around and adjusted sizes to make them fit on my mat.
I cut the vinyl using 6" blade depth and med (#2) pressure.
After it was cut, I weeded the extra vinyl off the mat.
Then I applied the transfer tape.  That was a sticky situation - LOL!
Pulled the transfer tape off, which brought the vinyl up with it.
Then, I applied it to the wall.

Now....if I make more of these...I can convince my hubby that my Cricut hobby actually does save us money!  So far - he's not convinced!

7 Days of Craft Fair - Day 2 - Embellished Journals

Embellished Journals make terrific craft fair items and they are so easy to do!
I picked up these journals and matching cards at Michaels last month for .50 each!
I used cricut markers to trace the letters. This font is from the StoryBook cartridge - drawn at 1".
The scalloped circle and inner circle are from Elegant Edges cartridge cut at 1".
Then I used stickles to pretty it up.
I made these for the girls in my bible study this month.
We just finished the book of Revelations - boy was that action packed!
If you make these for a craft fair, you can monogram on site with your cricut markers and Cricut, or you can use other embellishments instead.

Today's Craft Fair Tip:
Stock up on cheap journals when you find them throughout the year!

Thankful Banner - 1st Online Cricut Class - Country Life Cricut Cartridge

Here's the banner I made from the first Cricut online class - I substituted a lot of items and colors so that I could make use of the stash I already had.  That class was really hard to follow because I couldn't see the gypsy screen, but I got the general idea and finished it up myself.

Instructions:
I cut the banner triangle from the Country Life cricut cartridge at 5 1/2".  It's great because you can fit 6 on one page.  I cut 3 first, then I flipped the image and cut the remaining 3 to make use of the paper.  Yes - I have tons of extra banners lying around now...but they will be put to good use for sure.
I glued one banner to another banner that was "flipped" so that I could make this double sided, even though I didn't need to.
The paper was DCWV autumn pack that I recently got on Joanns.com for around $4 for 180 sheets ( super cheap!).
The scallops are cut from Easter 2010 cartridge at 1 1/2 ".
I inked the edges of the scallop in red using my Stampin Up red ink pad.
The lettering is cut from Storybook cartridge at 1 1/2".
I glued them all together and threaded Ofray ribbon through the holes.
I added a dew drop to the bottom of the banner to give it some dimension and weight.

How to Etch Glass with the Cricut - Tutorial

How to Etch Glass with the Cricut - Candy Dish Tutorial
Etching glass with the Cricut is super easy and makes a very inexpensive, yet beautiful gift.
Here are X simple steps to etching with the cricut.

Step 1 - Place the vinyl on the cricut mat and load it into the machine.  Choose a design.  I used the Storybook cartridge.   The settings should be slow, max pressure, max blade depth. Make sure you have a sharp blade, otherwise it will not cut the vinyl.

Step 2 - I remove the vinyl letters and save them for the recipent of the gift.  They are not needed in this project.  You will only use the negative portion of the cut.

Step 3 - I like to use transfer tape when applying the vinyl.  It's not necessary, but it sure makes it easier!  Simply lay the transfer tape over the vinyl.

Step 4 - Adhere the vinyl to the glass candy dish and pull off the transfer tape leaving ONLY the vinyl.

Step 5 - Using a paint brush, place the Armour Etch Cream 3 oz only on the letters you want etched and let sit for approximately 10 minutes.  DO NOT TOUCH THE ARMOR ETCH OR GET IT IN YOUR EYES.  READ the bottle for safety instructions.

Step 6 - Wash the etching cream off and peel off the vinyl.

You are left with beautiful candy dish!
